Technical Author (Process review & documentation) - Inside IR35 £250 - £300 per day

Our client is recruiting for a Technical Author to join them on an initial 4-5-month contract. You must have demonstrable experience as a Technical Author or Technical Writer, with the ability to review and document processes & procedures, facilitate workshops, and update existing technical documentation.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering Performance and Policy, the successful candidate will be required to deliver a technical documentation strategy consisting of a review of all current documentation and processes, check documented process is in place and, where it is not, create process maps and documentation and ensure they are produced and populated on the companies Company Management System (CMS). This will involve close working with the existing Asset Management team, facilitation of workshops and documentation production. Establish all documentation and procedures for introduction of Asset Management Technology.

This is a hybrid role and will require 2 - 3 days each week on site in Gourock, West of Glasgow and Contractors must engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella company.

Key skills include:

  • Experience in documentation and process review
  • The creation of process maps and documentation.
  • Experience in facilitating workshops to map future business processes.
  • Experience in the analysis of current technical documentation. (Strategy, policies, processes, and procedures)
  • Ability to co-ordinate and communicate technical documentation plan across key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience in the use of the Microsoft suit in particular Microsoft Visio

In addition, you must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others and senior stakeholders, both internal and external
