Head Resourcing is pleased to be working with one of the UK's leading retail banks on an exciting opportunity. We are seeking a talented leader with a passion for people, technology, and problem-solving to take on a unique role. In this 12-month secondment/Fixed Term Contract position, you will be responsible for a combined Team Coach and Lead Developer role within the newly established Dundee Technology School.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Shape and refine the curriculum of the Dundee Technology School's training program, ensuring it aligns with industry standards and best practices.
  • Leadership: Lead the first intake of 10-15 entry-level Developers through their 32-week training journey. Provide coaching, guidance, and technical support to help them acquire essential skills in coding languages such as HTML and CSS, as well as UI & UX principles.
  • Agile Environment: Leverage your experience working in agile-based environments and delivering in a sprint-based delivery approach. Collaborate cross-functionally with SMEs, Business Analysts, and Solution Architects to understand requirements and develop technical designs.
  • Technology Expertise: Utilize your problem-solving skills and coding expertise to create innovative technology-based solutions. Proficiency in Web UI & Middleware applications, SQL procedures/functions, Azure Data Factory, SSIS packages, Power BI reports, web, and background services is required.
  • People Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and development. Support team members in achieving their career goals while aligning with organizational objectives. Provide in-the-moment coaching, development activities, and opportunities for skill enhancement.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to develop individuals' careers and support organizational objectives through learning and skill development.
  • Extensive experience in problem-solving using technology-based solutions and proficiency in coding languages, including Web UI & Middleware applications, SQL procedures/functions, Azure Data Factory, SSIS packages, Power BI reports, web, and background services.
  • Previous experience working within the relevant industry (Financial Services).
  • Located in Dundee or willing to relocate, as daily support for your team will be essential.
