Oracle DBA (12c, 18c, 19c, OCI, Azure, Exadata, OAE) needed for an initial 6 month role with our Financial Services client in Edinburgh, though the role can be based predominantly remotely.

The right candidate must have demonstrable experience as an Oracle DBA administering large highly available, multi-terabyte production databases, strong performance tuning skills in SQL and PL/SQL and full operational and lifecycle support skills (including RMAN backup & recovery, full stack patching, and Linux administration skills). Familiarity with Exadata & RAC would be preferable, though not essential. Practical knowledge and experience of deploying and managing Oracle database technology within cloud offerings (ideally OCI and/or Azure) using automation tooling would be highly beneficial.

This role is not a dedicated support role and will consist of a mix of Support and project specific work, as required by the business.

Responsibilities:

*Working with other team members and stakeholders to support day-to-day administration requirements.
*Play a key role in their journey to the cloud (OCI, Azure), assisting with research, test & deployment activities.
*Maintaining security compliance, such as key patching activities.
*Working with team members and business stakeholders on new project on-boarding.
*Participating in an on-call rota and out of hours work as required.

Essential Skills include:

*Extensive experience as an Oracle DBA with Oracle 12c, 18c and 19c.
*Experience of building & supporting RAC, Dataguard, RMAN, ZFS, OEM, and MAA architectures.
*SQL and PL/SQL experience.
*Strong patching experience.
*Linux (OEL, Redhat) Administration & shell scripting.
*Experience of Oracle in the Cloud. (OCI, Azure, AWS etc.)

Desirable Skills include:

*Experience of Exadata.
*Experience of Delphix, Informatica, Qlik or Denodo would be useful.
*Knowledge and experience of using/developing with Oracle Application Express.
*Git and Azure DevOps release pipelines.
*Database DevOps tooling.

Whilst it will be predominantly remote, the role will require 1 - 2 days on-site in Edinburgh every week or two as things continue to open up and candidates need to engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella Company.
