Head Resourcing are on the lookout for a talented Platform Engineer to join our large financial services client with hubs in Glasgow and Newcastle. Our client is looking for a skilled engineer to join their platform team and this role can be worked fully remotely.
The platform engineering team develop, manage and maintain the operational platform that is used to deliver and operate our clients' applications using a mixture of inhouse and industry leading products. In this role you will be working on an on-prem Redhat estate, looking to automate pipelines and do server builds.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of Linux system engineering and be comfortable automating the setup of hardware, operating systems and services to internal standards. Possessing strong scripting skills in at least one of PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible or Perl.
Required skills:
*Linux system engineering experience in Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
*Experience of Scripting (any of PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Bash or Perl)
*Experience of server build, configuration & dependency management systems (Puppet or Satellite)
*Experience of VMware
*Exceptional communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Skills:
*Experience of Solaris or AIX administration
*Experience of Veritas (VCS)
*Knowledge of Cloud Engineering
*Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift
