Synapse Data Engineer
Our consultancy client is looking for a talented Synapse Data Engineer to join their team on an initial 8 month contract inside IR35. This is a hybrid working opportunity with up-to 2 days per week spent on-site at their London offices.
As Synapse Data Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining data integration processes on the Azure Synapse Analytics platform.
Duties will include:
- Developing Synapse pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes
- Designing and implementing data warehouses, data marts, schemas and ETL logic
- Troubleshooting and optimising data pipelines for performance and reliability
- Collaborating with data scientists, business analysts and software engineers on data initiatives
- Monitoring data workflows and performing routine audits of data quality and integrity
- Building and maintaining SQL tables, views, and stored procedures
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Synapse, Azure Data Factory, SQL, Python, and data modelling. A background in financial services and familiarity with regulated environments is highly desirable.
Required Skills:
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics
- Expert knowledge of SQL and T-SQL
- Experience with Azure Data Factory and data pipelines
- Proficiency in Python, Spark, and orchestrating big data workflows
- Knowledge of data modelling, warehousing principles and ETL processes
- Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot data issues
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
