Product Owner

Head Resourcing are currently looking for a Product Owner to a Glasgow based facilities management company. This role will be responsible for supporting the companies client and global server, network and cloud infrastructure. The successful individual is a Product Owner who has an extensive background in dealing with IT infrastructure-based projects.

The Product Owner will be responsible for the change and running of large and complex infrastructure products, including infrastructure life cycle management, introducing new services, and overseeing the technical roadmap and debt for the platforms and systems.
Product Owner will have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Azure, O365 and VM products


Tasks & responsibilities:
*Definition and execution of Product roadmap, vision and strategy.
*Writing user stories, sprint goals, DoD and acceptance criteria.
*Work with Agile projects at scale, with multiple streams, teams, and stakeholders.
*Strategic planning to deliver both innovative initiatives and tactical activities optimising value.
*Identify cross-product dependencies. Manage dependencies with other team's functions while identifying, building, and managing strategic partnerships across different product teams.
*Engage with users and stakeholders to turn user insight into product improvements.
*Influence and negotiate at a senior level, communicating explicit and implicit trade-offs that impact the enterprise.
*Collaborate with stakeholders on crucial product considerations and align with product vision, features, and roadmap. Leverages customer insights, feedback, financials, compliance, and risk data to define product features and roadmap in partnership with other SMEs.
*Create and maintain key product documentation.g.eg, customer journey map, technical specs, process mapping, etc.). Identifies and defines key non-functional requirements (e.g., security, availability, performance, etc.) to achieve necessary product metrics.
*Own definition of Minimum Viable Product (MVP), the definition of Done and Sprint goal for the delivery product roadmap.
*Build, maintain, and prioritise the product backlog. Holds meetings with the product team to continuously update product backlog.
*Defines functional and non-functional product requirements, ensuring completeness.
*Create and validate user story acceptance criteria. Defines and provides appropriate testing for the product.
*Partners with IT Ops teams and squads to review technical features required to continuously optimise system components and reduce technical debt.
*Build a culture of accountability and ownership by empowering the product team to make decisions as close to work as possible.

*Defining a clear product mission & vision together with the product manager.
*Facilitate communication among all stakeholders and product teams to define product roadmaps and develop business cases and success metrics.
*Anticipate challenges, balancing business needs and technical or operational limitations.
*Driving day-to-day prioritisation of work operations, projects, and scope; troubleshooting reported issues and escalating when appropriate.
*Own the long-term vision of the infrastructure products, inspire the team to achieve the vision.
*Guide new features and services from inception to production while keeping internal and external customers successful.
*Maintain the team backlog, prioritising and defining requirements while keeping a strong focus on security, reliability, and scalability of the company services, but also have an eye on the costs.
*Use data to make informed decisions about what the team should work on next and analyse the results.
*Collect/give feedback and input from/to a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.

Skills & experience:

*Agile certification
*Ideally educated to S/NVQ for Information/Communication Technology or good experience similarity role.
*2+ years of experience in Product Management/Ownership. Proven experience in Product Management/Product Ownership.
*Good understanding of infrastructure technologies, Cloud, Servers, Networking.
*Ability to write users' stories.
*Priorities Epics and backlog.
*Ability to challenge stakeholders.
*Ability to work under pressure.
*Experience working in an agile environment.
*Significant experience in leading the delivery for a complex product or range of products across the spectrum of IT change and run capabilities with a particular focus on O365, Azure, Intune and VMs.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
*Pragmatic and flexible approach.
*Can-do attitude.
*Excellent interpersonal skills.
*Flexibility to handle multiple job functions in a constantly changing environment while maintaining focus.

**Please note, as this is a business facing role role you will need to be able to work 2-3 days per week in the office in Glasgow**
