Oracle Developer - PL/SQL / Forms / Reports - 14 month Fixed Term Contract - Remote Working

Head Resourcing is currently recruiting for an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to work with one of our clients based in Aberdeen (you can work 100% remotely). You will work as part of a well-established team that delivers enhancements to a variety of internal systems; collaborating as part of the team developing, maintaining, and supporting a range of bespoke software and data interfaces. You will also work with other developers, other IT professionals, external third parties, customers and support the Database Development Manager. You will build strong stakeholder relationships, gather requirements, develop solutions, and then test and release into production in a large scale environment. Ideally you will be used to working in an Agile / Scrum environment, however our client is happy to consider candidates that have not worked in that environment and are looking to pick up new skills.

Responsibilities:
- Working as part of a team on the design, development, testing and maintenance of bespoke applications using a mix of technologies such as RESTful API, PL/SQL and Oracle Forms / Oracle Reports
- Participating in the delivery of a good user experience and accessibility of applications.
- Participating in the design of databases and using database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server to deliver application and/or interface functionality
- Creating and reviewing the production and maintenance of technical documentation to a high standard.
- Creating and reviewing the design and development of applications and interfaces which comply with recommended security practices and ensuring that coding is performed in a security and privacy conscious manner.
- Maintaining and sharing an up-to-date knowledge of technologies and recommended practice within the domain.

Essential:
- Development experience using Oracle PL/SQL and SQL to deliver a range of applications and data interfaces
- Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports
- Experience of RESTful API approaches.
- Experience of integration platform approaches.
- Proven experience of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Experience of collaborating with customers to analyse complex business processes and producing detailed system specifications.
- Experience writing documentation for both users and technical staff.
- Experience of supporting, maintaining and administering complex and bespoke-developed applications.

Desirable:
- Knowledge of T-SQL.
- Experience of working with Jira.
- Experience of Test-driven Development.
- Awareness of Agile Methodologies.
- Familiarity with Message Queue technologies.
