The ideal candidate could come from a variety of different background, but crucially, must know 'what great looks like' from a Technology department perspective, and how technology fundamentally contributes to business success. Due to the varied nature of the role, someone who had worked in a consultancy and done a range of different roles could be well suited. The successful candidate will need expertise in specific cross-functional IT management capabilities and the reporting of their performance in a way that is meaningful inside and outside of the Technology team. You will also need first rate stakeholder management skills, and be able to develop very strong networks inside organisations and be confident in making connections outside the organisation to drive success.
