I am currently recruiting a Data Solutions Architect on behalf of a financial services client based in Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly created role where you will be leading the design of products and services for the strategic data platform within the business.

In this role you will own and update the infrastructure design of the platform, covering ingestion of raw data into the data lake and through the full life-cycle of data and associated architecture. You will also ensure that designed solutions are kept up to date and that have been approved which comply with business processes and design standards. The current platform is still in the early stages and built in AWS, but there are plans to bring in Azure technology soon.

Role Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the design of the data platform, working independently to deliver assigned work while supporting the line manager.
- Collaborate with the wider development team, using Agile/Scrum methodologies to deliver solutions and services for stakeholders.
- Ensuring relevant documentation for the organisations strategic Cloud platform is regularly kept up to date.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, understanding how they would integrate into the bank and the data platform.
- Align to Information Security, Data Protection, Data Governance and Data Architecture principles. Work with these teams to build, monitor and maintain fit for purpose infrastructure, access, processes and documentation for our platform architecture, databases, and data assets.

Skills Required:
- Experience in Cloud Data Architecture, either AWS or Azure preferred
- Knowledge of CI/CD, API's, ETL, Lambda, Python, Jenkins, and Spark
- Stakeholder management skills
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work with multiple teams in the business
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload, meet deadlines, and support others when required
- Development of the platform understands the principles of IAAS and infrastructure as code and supports adoption of CI/CD methodologies, designers need awareness of these practices, data principles and DevOps practices.

In return you will receive a competitive salary and great benefits package. They also offer flexible remote working with 1 or 2 days in the office once restrictions are lifted.
