Data Protection Officer (DPO) / Compliance Officer needed for our FMCG client in Glasgow to engage on a part-time basis for 3 months initially, 3 - 4 days per week onsite. The right candidate must have a demonstrable background in Data Protection, Governance and Compliance within complex organisations, including in depth knowledge and experience in privacy and data protection laws & legislation, including PECR.
This role is Inside IR35, and the successful candidate must engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella company. The role will also be based onsite in Glasgow and is part-time, 3 - 4 days per week.
This interim role will involve managing one direct report, providing data protection and privacy advice to the business, maintaining records of data processing activities, providing guidance and support on data security across the organisations, conducting regular assessments and audits to ensure compliance, performing Subject Access Requests and overseeing relevant policies and procedures.
Key Experience required:
- Demonstrable experience as a Data Protection Officer, Information Governance Officer, Compliance Officer or similar.
- Experience of dealing with a variety of stakeholders, and related management skills in this area.
- Expert analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of best practices to prevent a wide range of security threats.
- Experience of drafting and reviewing data protection clauses for contracts and advising businesses on these.
- Demonstrable experience supporting change management; with the proven ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with colleagues at all levels to persuade users of the benefits of data protection compliance, provide helpful guidance and advice, address concerns and manage expectations.
- Experience working in certified environments (e.g. ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI DSS).
- A qualification in data protection (CIPP/e, CIPM, CIPT) or equivalent practical experience.
