Chief Information Officer (CIO) - Permanent - Edinburgh - Salary up to £120K (DOE)

Head Resourcing is currently recruiting an exciting new role with one of our clients based in Edinburgh. We are looking for a Chief Information Officer to help our client drive their business forward and ensure technology is a key component of delivering their futures successes. The focus of this role is to support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and senior business leaders with a transformation of their approach to technology in order to help them achieve their strategic quality and growth objectives.

In this role you will have overall responsibility for the technology infrastructure (network and systems), its delivery and development, ensuring interoperability with the company's existing and future infrastructure. The successful candidate will be an expert in their field, a strategic leader and innovator that will work collaboratively with the leadership team to create tailored solutions that look to the future. You will work with the leadership team to ensure our infrastructure is fit for purpose and that risk is appropriately managed. A key priority will be building a technology roadmap that drives the company into the future as a leader of technological solutions to support employees and clients.

Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for the objectives and strategy of the IT department and operationally
accountable for the technology operations across the company
- Customer-centric, enabling and forward-thinking leadership of the IT Team, at all times in keeping with the organisational values
- Working with the business to develop a technology architecture, including policies, processes and systems, to support the whole business and drive organisational effectiveness and change
- Responsible for Change Management including engaging stakeholders in the change, measuring and reporting change progress, assessing business readiness and ensuring successful adoption.
- Supporting colleagues in using technology effectively by communicating clearly and impactfully the benefits of change
- Research new technologies and keeping abreast of market and industry trends with the potential to increase competitive advantage to improve on the services and client experience that our client has to offer
- Develop and nurture relationships with external technology suppliers, stakeholders and key institutions to identify technology solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness, orchestrating any required diligence and ensuring they have the appropriate third party controls in place
- Working alongside our Business Lines and reviewing and understanding their needs, you will help to define, develop and deliver a roadmap of technology change covering a range of new products and enhancements to deliver practical solutions
- Ensure Operational Resilience and Business Continuity in order to protect the company and client data, and the continuity of the services offered. With a particular focus on managing the ever evolving cyber security threats
- Developing, tracking and controlling the development of annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations, providing challenge on ROI to ensure cost optimisation.

Essential:
- Extensive senior leadership experience of leading a complex IT function
- Outstanding knowledge of technology as applied to a successful and demanding business environment
- Strong communication skills; able to easily communicate complex technological changes and terminology clearly and impactfully across an organisation
- Track record of collaborating, influencing and challenging a senior leadership team in technology strategy, programmes, processes and policies
- Ability to design, develop and execute project and change management plans
- The knowledge and ability to lead a team across the IT function, including all aspects of development, installation and maintenance of computer network systems and associated hardware and software
- Excellent leadership, communication and networking skills built on a collaborative and supportive style.

Desirable:
- Ideally you will hold a Masters level qualification in a relevant subject
- Familiarity with Practice Management, Microsoft 365 and accountancy software systems and how to maximise their effectiveness
