Head Resourcing is currently recruiting for an experienced Development / Solution Architect for our client based in Edinburgh. Our client is a highly reputed boutique financial services organisation, they have an exceptional reputation as an employer and offer the opportunity to work across multiple projects they have in the current and future project portfolio. Working with the business analysts, developers, UX designers and system testers, you will be expected to translate the business requirements into solution designs for new applications or major new features / updates for existing applications, including illustrative examples of technical impacts and risks, as well as the flow of data through the application and any downstream systems. Most new applications are being built around C# / Oracle / Angular / Azure and any previous experience in these is desirable (this role is very much hands-off). Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with business analysis to understand business requirements, and produce a specification detailing 'to-be' technical design for features.
- Work closely with UX designers to ensure proposed designs are fit for purpose and technically achievable.
- Create solution designs in conjunction with the rest of the team including the business analyst and technical team lead, and ensure that proposed 'to-be' is fit for purpose
- Collaborate with the technical team lead to ensure that the solution designs follow the overall departmental strategy for application design.
- Work with other projects to refine integrations and form ideas for the design of the solution.
- Work with business analysts to gain stakeholder agreement for solution design proposals, incorporating feedback where necessary.
- Contribute to the development of current standards and procedures.
Essential:
- Extensive experience working in a Solution Designer / Solution Architect level role
- Experience working across the entire application lifecycle
- Experience working previously with development technologies such as C# / .NET or Java
- Familiarity with web technologies previously (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Enthusiasm for technology and development practices
- Proactive and self-motivated with a flexible approach to work
Desirable:
- Experience with Oracle / PL/SQL or SQL Server
- Containerised deployment methods (Rancher/Kubernetes)
- Agile / Scrum / Kanban experience
