2 x Software Engineers - Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Up to £60,000 per annum
Head Resourcing is working with an offshore survival products company who are on the lookout for two experienced Software Engineers to join the team. My client who are developing a remotely operated Search and Rescue (SAR) Service for the Offshore Renewable Industry has specialist expertise in SAR operations, technology integration and automation systems.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for two software engineers to continue this journey with them. This is a hybrid role with working from the office based in Edinburgh city centre 1-2 days per week and working from home the rest of the week. There is some flexibility with how often you must be in the office each week. Please be mindful when applying that you will need to be able to commute to the office in Edinburgh.
As part of the team you will:
Drive software engineering best practice while designing the world's foremost maritime systems
Develop and deploy cloud and edge software frameworks for computer vision and augmented reality processing
Design and develop innovative REST APIs and SDKs to deliver computer vision and machine learning capabilities
Provide technical support and contribute to the definition, development, integration, test and documentation
Prepare technical requirements and software design specifications
Demonstrate best practices for software development and documentation, making sure designs meet requirements, and delivering high quality software on tight schedules
In order to be considered for the role, candidates require:
Languages such as C#, Python and C++
Front end technologies such as REACT, JQuery, AngularJS or HTML5
Databases such as SQL server, MySQL, MongoDB
Computer Vision and/or Machine Learning frameworks such as PyTorch OpenCV, TensorFlow
Augmented Reality platforms such as Vuforia, ARKit, ARCore would be advantageous
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Experience of professional software engineering and deploying scalable DevOps solutions
Experience with working on cloud AI services such as Azure and Google Cloud
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related field
Preferred Skills:
Deep understanding of machine learning technology and experience on turning machine learning technologies into practical, state-of-the-art systems
Familiarity with Augmented Reality engines
Solid real world system building skills
Passion for cutting edge computer vision/machine learning technologies and product delivery
Self motivated
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
