Role: Senior Security Engineer
Location: Remote (office visit once every 2-3 weeks) Flexible Working
Salary: £53-58k DOE + Benefits.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Security Engineer to join a global leader in the supply of engineering equipment, who are renowned for their excellence and have a reputation as a technical leader across the wide array of industries they supply into.

Working across the global divisions to implement and manage IT security systems and procedures You will be responsible for the hands on implementation and management of security technologies to protect the company assets and to enable technical compliance with financial and data protection legislation e.g. GDPR.

Accountabilities:
*To develop and implement technical security standards and policies including post implementation audit processes
*To monitor the IT assets for security breaches or intrusions, including post incident investigation
*To work closely with the IT Operations and Client Service Delivery teams to ensure technical security standards are understood, built into processes and maintained
*To ensure the organization is aware of the importance of security and acts accordingly
*To act as the technical point of contact for audit collaboration, reporting and response for internal audits and external audit parties with zero deficiency targets
*To share IT security best practice amongst the IT organization and non IT personnel to implant a security-aware culture across the company
*To identify existing or emerging technical security risks and make recommendations to Global IS management

Essential Skills:
*Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus / EDR software, identity management systems, log management and content filtering
*Detailed knowledge of IT security technologies and industry best practice
*Detailed knowledge of Microsoft server and client operating system stack
*Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms and security, in particular Azure and Microsoft 365
*Strong knowledge of Microsoft back office systems and databases e.g. Active Directory, SQL Server
*Detailed knowledge of networking technologies and protocols
*Proven work experience as a system security engineer or information security engineer
*Undertaking technical security audits with formalised, structured reporting
*Ability to articulate complex issues in a manner that is understood at all levels

Desirable Skills:
*Experience working with SIEM tools, in particular Splunk
*Understanding and experience of software development lifecycle standards e.g. DevOps
*Worked in a global environment
*Knowledge of IT Governance frameworks e.g. COBIT
*Knowledge of IT Management frameworks e.g. ITIL, SOX
*Knowledge of Security frameworks e.g. ISO27000
