I am looking for a Front-End Developer to join a leading financial services company. Working in a team that is responsible for the creation and maintenance of a wide range of Web applications & services (both customer facing experiences and internal staff tooling) you will play a vital role in the continual delivery of first-class services to their customers and staff

Please note- this role can we worked fully remotely in the UK but advantageous if you live close to Glasgow, Newcastle or Norwich.

Day To Day You'll

*Assess & estimate new work requests
*Build and enhance features within projects, adding unit & automation tests for high code coverage
*Contribute to semantically versioned common code libraries
*Deploy applications using continuous integration & deployment systems
*Educate & inform more junior members of the team during pull requests
*Fix bugs & reduce tech debt across systems
*Generate new ideas for development approaches & architectural approaches
*Help improve, optimise & modernise our tech stack, with research into industry best practice

In order to be successful in the role you will need,

*A proven track record in a developer role with sound knowledge and experience programming applications using Javascript or Typescript
*Previous development experience of single page Web applications using React or similar frameworks (e.g. Angular, Vue)
*Experience implementing and using UI state management patterns eg (Redux, Zustand)
*An understanding of declarative routing patterns (eg with React Router)
*Previous experience of library dependency management using NPM or similar.
*Knowledge of modern UI styling approaches using CSS, Sass or CSS-in-JSS solutions
*The ability to develop unit & integration tests using Javascript test frameworks, e.g. Jest, Enzyme, Jasmine
*Previous experience in communicating with Microservice REST APIs, and an understanding of Networking/HTTP protocols
*Experience using version control tooling & repositories, e.g. git, GitHub, Bitbucket
*Understanding of agile work tracking/ticketing software such as Jira, Azure Boards
*Practical examples of using best practice software development principles, e.g. DRY, KISS, SOLID
*Implementing defensive code for security considerations with front end software development
*Experience working within strictly Object Oriented or Functional Programming paradigms


It's a bonus if you have the knowledge and experience below but it's not essential.

*Automation testing solutions using Cypress
*Server caching state management solutions, eg using SWR
*Monorepo & Micro FrontEnd solutions, eg Lerna, Single Spa
*Implementing accessible interfaces complying with WCAG 2.1 (or newer)
*Defensive mitigations against OWASP top ten security risks
*Knowledge or experience of developing with the Microsoft Dynamics platform
