Our client, large Financial Services organisation is looking for a Senior Application Developer with a demonstrable knowledge and experience in approaches to software development and proven track record in technical delivery, ideally in a financial services environment. Successful candidate will also be expected to use their broader capabilities to contribute to the design and governance of the Insurance Finance operating model for data, systems and BI.
Key Accountabilities
*Responsible for the delivery of finance database applications and data solutions for strategic and BAU change using a variety of technical and analytical skills
*Provide proactive leadership in technical matters, drawing upon own expert knowledge of SQL Server and associated technologies
*Analyse data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions
*Develop, test and implement code to departmental standards
*Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle
*Mentor and coach other team members in a range of skills and behaviours, to include both technical and development lifecycle best practice
To be successful in this Contract, our Client is seeking an experienced Developer with solid and demonstrable experience in the following areas:
*Good knowledge of software development practices, testing standards and design principles including implementation of KISS, DRY and SOLID Principles.
*Competent in C# .Net Core design and development
*Proficient experience of UI design and build with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
*Strong Object Orientated design skills, design patterns, multi-threading and real-time development experience
*Competent SQL developer using SSIS, T-SQL and Stored Procedures
*Significant experience using proven relational database design methodologies such as Kimball
*Experience of N-tier and N-layered architecture design and usage
*Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2012+ / T-SQL & Stored Procedures
*Demonstrated experience and proficient understanding of JSON/XML and serialization
Desirable Skills & Experience
*Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft VBA, C# or other applicable MS Office integrated technologies
*GIT & GitHub
*Experience as MS VBA developer using MS Access, Excel
*DevOps Automated Continuous Integration knowledge and experience
*TDD / Test Driven Development / Unit Testing / Mocking
*Building Micro services
*Blazor framework, Razor pages & Web Assembly
*RESTful API
*HTML/CSS/JavaScript
