Head resourcing are recruiting for a senior developer for an established financial services company. You will support a team of 8-12 developers and be responsible for coaching and mentoring them. However this role is not a managerial role, it is a lead role where you will coach developers but also have a lot of hands on technical work as well.


Your day to day responsibilities include

* Lead a team of microservices and integration engineers.

* Help drive the evolution of our microservices technology and support with the evolution of our middleware platform to keep fit for the future.

* Identify, implement or suggest changes that improve service to internal and external customers.

* Work as part of a team to lead, coach and manage the Java and integration engineering squads, to deliver quality outputs in a timely fashion, that meet the needs of stakeholders; focusing not just on what is delivered, but equally focused on how objectives are achieved.

* Apply technical and platform knowledge, make key technical decisions and build a consensus around technical direction in an agile environment.

* Evolve software engineering practices, processes and tools in a proactive manner.

* Bring experience and platform knowledge to bear on complex tasks, identifying technical risk, working with architects and developers to mitigate this risk using architecture spikes and proofs-of-concept.


To be successful you'll need to bring…

* In-depth experience of implementing java solutions across multiple areas of a typical enterprise technology.

* Experienced Agile development with a strong grasp of automation, continuous integration, test-driven development and continuous refactoring.

* Oracle cloud experience

* Practical experience in Agile development, e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.

* SOAP/ REST Web Services.

* Spring Framework, Spring Web Services, Spring MVC.

* Java 7/8, JEE, JSP.

* SQL / ESQL.
