IT Infrastructure Support Engineer- Edinburgh office base


Are you ready to take your technical expertise to the next level? We're seeking a skilled and dynamic IT Support Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in our operational IT success. As an IT Support Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of deploying, managing, and supporting our IT infrastructure and end user computing environment.
What You'll Do:
? Infrastructure : Deploy and manage servers, storage, network devices, and applications to ensure a reliable, scalable, and secure IT environment.
? Network: Administer network devices and systems, keeping them up to date, patched, and configured securely for smooth operations.
?? Incident : Collaborate with partners to respond to security incidents, identify root causes, contain damage, and remediate affected systems and data.
? Governance: Uphold governance policies, including access control, change management, and disaster recovery, to ensure compliance.
? Data Tracker: Assist in capturing and preparing status metrics for key performance indicators, enhancing our infrastructure assets.
? Tech: Stay updated on industry trends, projects, and solutions, while proactively seeking ways to optimize and innovate.
? Stakeholder: Showcase your excellent communication skills by interacting effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

What You'll Need:
? Education: Degree level education or equivalent experience.
?? Certifications: Technical certifications in Microsoft and Cisco technologies are a big plus. ITIL V3/V4 Foundation certification is desirable.
? Tech : Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft products, including Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
? Security: Proficiency in security tools such as Microsoft Defender and Defender for Cloud to keep our systems protected.
? Cloud: Understanding of cloud technologies like AWS and Microsoft Azure for future-forward IT strategies.
? User Champion: Experience in user environment management, desktop/laptop support, software delivery, and profile management.
? Support: Previous experience in 2nd/3rd line support role, handling incidents with finesse.
? Tech: Familiarity with IT infrastructure tech like SANs, virtualization, and networking for a holistic approach.
