Head Resourcing is currently recruiting for an experienced Impact Analyst / Data Analyst for our prestigious client in the investments industry in Edinburgh. Our client is going through a large scale change project in their Accounting Book of Records (ABOR) space and it is a large application estate that impacts a number of other internal systems. The drive to rationalise and modernise this area means that a careful and detailed assessment needs to be made on how the systems (and their data) integrates with other systems across the business and then understanding how that impacts future rationalisation. You will identify technical problems and determine the impact across the application estate and code base, so that solutions (both architectural, developmental and procedural) can be implemented in line with the target operational systems model. Responsibilities:
- Understanding of the business problem and the strategic approach being taken
- Detailed data lineage analysis to understand the usage of data attributes and the breadth of impact a change will have
- In depth impact analysis across a range of technologies
- Collaboration with tech leads and architects to propose technical solutions.
- Collaboration with data architecture team to understand and adhere to data principles and governance guidelines
- Presentation of findings to business and technical audiences
- Document all findings ready for development teams to pick up the work.
Essential:
- Experience in carrying out in depth impact analysis
- Systems and data analysis and data lineage tracing
- Ability to think strategically and assess the problem in the context of the wider target operating model
- Understanding of RDBMS such as Oracle / SQL Server - ideally able to read and understand queries
Desirable:
- Any coding experience (ability to read code and understand it, this role will not involve writing any code)
- Ability to pick up other tooling (e.g. impact analysis tooling) quickly
- Any previous experience of Accounting Book of Records (ABOR)
