Head Resourcing is working with an organisation in Glasgow that is looking to recruit an experienced and accomplished IT professional with an exceptional background in IT strategy and IT architecture. Working with both internal teams and partner organisations you will help to define and deliver technology strategy and solutions that enable delivery of key services to wide range of end customers. You will provide leadership and direction across the technology organisation, suppliers, and other business areas - developing new solutions on behalf of the businesses and ensuring these are appropriate for the business need and add business value. The team you will manage is responsible for the provision of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services both internally and to partner organisations; this includes development of the technology vision and strategy in line with business strategies, and the management of the demand pipeline for each of the businesses that you support. The role encompasses a number of responsibilities; strategy, architecture, stakeholder management, relationship management, demand management, and digital enablement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the engagement with senior stakeholders within partner organisations regarding Technology Strategy and design solution development
- Present and deliver innovative solutions for partner organisations across a range of technology competencies across a wide range of environments
- Provide leadership, vision and direction to internal teams and partner organisations
- Lead the engagement with contracted supplier organisations with regard to Technology Strategy, Solutions and Architecture
- Contribute to the running of the wider IT team as part of the Senior Management Team
- Ensure that all Architecture processes are regularly reviewed, improved where necessary and are followed by the team at all times
- Inform and motivate the team through regular and team briefings
- Communicate and promote the aims, values and progress of the organisation and the partner organisations
- Deliver the highest level of technical leadership and consultancy demonstrating technical competence across a range of technologies and business solutions with the highest degree of confidence and delivery professionalism
- Enhance partner organisations credibility in the development of high value solutions which maximise return on investment, total cost of ownership and business development opportunities
- Ensure the highest standards of quality, professionalism, technical capability and documentation is applied to all solutions
- Be an integral team leader in the continual development of leading edge managed service Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based best practices
- Lead the design, consultancy, and implementation planning of proposed solutions and support best practices ensuring a smooth and transparent transition to service
- Participate in service improvement plans, initiatives and business strategies to maximise the overall business investments in IT
Essential:
- Extensive track record in IT strategy and architecture and solution design across complex change programmes
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Architecture and experience of using at least with one framework i.e. TOGAF
- Excellent people management and motivational skills
- Significant IT experience including Cloud Hosting and Microsoft Technologies (Dynamics 365, O365, Data Platforms and Analytics, Security)
- Experience of delivering IT services within an ITIL Framework and aligned to Security Standards
- Extensive background in managing customers and 3rd party suppliers / vendors
- Experienced influencer, particularly with senior stakeholders
- Proven track record in budget management
Desirable:
- Experience of managing multiple IT suppliers across a complex organisation
- Proven track record in establishing outsourced arrangements
- Proven track record in budget management and cost models for IT Shared Service
- Security Architecture experience
