Software Engineering Manager Java (Edinburgh/ Remote UK based £90,000)
Head are delighted to be working with our FinTech scale-up client to engage a talented Engineering Manager to lead the technical team in the Payment Orchestration sector and support their Enterprise clients in optimising their payment infrastructure to create a market leading and frictionless digital payment experiences.

I am looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to assist in the delivery of some ambitious plans by providing leadership and management of one of the software engineering teams.
Experience and Skills:
- Experience in people leadership and development
- Experience of Agile software development, methodologies, and best practices
- Know how to talk tech with the teams, having previously been an engineer yourself
- You have a good understanding of Java, Spring Boot and the key to Spring frameworks
- You have a good understanding of message-drive microservice architecture, such as running applications in Kubemetes and experience In Kafka
- You are passionate about databases and worked in the past with SQL/NoSQL technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Couchbase, Mongo DB, etc)
- You have experience deploying fault-tolerant distributed systems on Linux, possibly in a cloud environment
- You are familiar with cloud computing concepts and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubemetes, Gradle, Jenkins)
- You have very high development standards, especially for code quality, code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration, and deployment
- You have proven capability to Interact with clients and deliver results, taking Ideas to production
- You have an appetite for taking on challenges and leveraging new technologies
- Preferred Industry know/experience: FinTech, Payments, Banking or similar
