Data Engineer
Up to £65,000 + benefits (bonus etc)

Head Resourcing are pleased to be working with one of Scotland's biggest success stories as they look to hire a Data Engineer. This role will form part of a brand-new team who will be tasked with designing and building a new PaaS offering in Azure. This role will work on a Hybrid basis, with occasional office days required in Glasgow.

In this role you will work collaboratively within our client's data team, working with data engineers, software developers and product managers to help define the shape of the data platform. As such, you will have previous experience in a Data Engineering role.

To succeed in this role, you'll have expert SQL knowledge, be well versed in data wrangling and be comfortable working with data at scale. You'll also have experience with data pipelines, ingesting from multiple sources, validating, modelling, and storing data. It is also important you have an appreciation of a modern DataOps mindset, version controlled and automated deployments.

In this role you will be working with data from multiple sources as our client moves towards modern PaaS offerings, therefore experience with Data Lake and Data Lake housing approaches is desirable, as is experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse / Data Warehouse.

We would like you to have:
*Previous experience as a Data Engineer
*Experience with Azure Data solution tools
*Experience with Data Lake and Data Lake house approaches
*Azure Data Factory
*Azure Synapse / Data Warehouse or similar tooling
*Experience of batch processing
*Understanding of security, performance, and the importance of data governance
