Data Analyst / Data Modeller - Permanent - Edinburgh

Head Resourcing is currently recruiting for an experienced Data Analyst / Data Modeller to work with a prestigious investment management organisation in Edinburgh. Our client's data strategy is designed to enable them to manage and present all the data needed to deliver a world-class service to their clients, their investors, and their internal operational areas - both now and in the future. As part of that strategy they are keen to embed architecture principles and governance that will enable them meet and exceed these demands and will provide a robust, strategic data platform and ensure they have the correct framework in place to support this. They are looking for a Data Analyst / Modeller who will help the ongoing development of the enterprise data model, provide data related support, investigation and research skills, and will contribute to the integration of their data governance tools. You will work with a number of colleagues across a range of areas, including Data Architecture, Data Governance and Management, and the Senior Programme Manager and Delivery Manager on the business engagement. Our client has a customer focused culture where they value collaboration and high levels of customer service - you will gain great exposure across our client's organisation from front office to back office.

Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the delivery of the enterprise data models
- Collaborate with business teams and other data modellers to develop the data models based on the business context
- Establish and maintain controls over changes to the data model and its integrity
- Ensure the data model designs are scalable and flexible to allow for future growth and new requirements
- Work closely with development teams to ensure physical implementations accurately support the logical structure
- Take responsibility for data investigative work to gain a strong, in-depth understanding of data flows and data
- Liaise with stakeholders to fully understand the data content
- Document data procedures and workflows
- Identify and recommend improvements to new or changed data processes
- Technical metadata management
- Champion the department data policies, standards and guidelines

Essential:
- Data analysis experience
- Solid understanding of master and reference data and its use within Investment Management
- Experience of enterprise data modelling
- Awareness of agile approaches such as Scrum / Kanban
- Experience in stakeholder engagement (verbal, written, presenting) with the ability to convey design concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- High level of attention to detail

Desirable:
- Experience of data modelling tools e.g. Erwin would be advantageous
- Experience of Informatica data governance tools
