Job Role: CISO Assistant Manager, Security Operations

Function: CISO

Location: Edinburgh (remote working)

Salary: £28,500 - £38,820 DOE + Great benefits package

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a leading financial services organisation as an Assistant Manager Sec Ops Lead. This role is part of the Security Operations Engineering team where you will be responsible for managing projects and BAU work as well as project delivery for the Intelligence Team. Both teams are responsible for identifying and responding to cyber related threats, events, and incidents impacting systems, infrastructure, data, staff and customers and tooling implementation and optimisation to support the service on an ongoing basis.

The role is a mix of supervisory, governance and stakeholder management, you will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement across both teams and use your experience of tooling optimisation, configuration mapping and deployment of security tools to be the bridge between the two teams.


What you will bring -

Knowledge of Microsoft enterprise technologies and governance would be beneficial
Good understanding of cyber protective methodologies and concepts like Cyber Kill Chain and Mitre ATT&CK, and be able to translate them into security controls
Be a subject matter expert in some security tools being an information source to others in the team and the wider organisation
Experience of maintaining end to end awareness of security tooling for both engineering and BAU monitoring
Experience of managing tooling engineering, tuning and optimisation
Experience of managing configuration mapping and management - including the process for onboarding of new applications to the tooling


What you will learn -

Understand and map requirements between monitoring and capability and own associated processes for change
Be current on developments to our security tools, emerging threats, and problems seen on the wider industry
Be willing to undergo technical training relevant and certifications (where appropriate) to security tooling and process as part of your development and the organisation's needs
Contribute to effectively evaluating new security products and new tooling projects
Build a thorough understanding of the business infrastructure estate and its monitoring requirements across multiple technologies
Develop comprehensive and accurate reports for both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels
