New contract opportunity has become available with one of our Banking Clients within their Business Intelligence (BI)Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a controlled environment where successful candidate will deliver high quality, timely & accurate data and trusted solutions to support the reporting and analytical requirements of the Mortgage and Savings Business and Retail Finance.
Main areas of responsibility will include:
* Development of the Data Warehouse using Oracle PL/SQL programming for new and enhanced functionality.
* Production of Technical Design for improvements to the Data Warehouse based on the Functional/Logical designs produced by the Data Analysts.
* Working collaboratively with the other colleagues in the Data Warehousing team.
* Adopting the required coding standards and industry best practice.
* Conducting rigorous unit testing of coded solutions to ensure error free and robust implementation into the production environment.
* Production of documentation to defined standards.
Knowledge & experience required to be successful in this role:
* Deep understanding of the full development project lifecycle and methodologies used.
* Proven ability in delivering data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.
* Sound knowledge and experience in core technologies: Oracle PL/SQL, Unix Scripting.
* Ability to remain calm and work in a delivery team effectively through constrained timescales and difficult programmes.
Desirable skills & experience:
* Financial services business knowledge, particularly mortgages and savings.
* Ability to work across all stages of the development lifecycle when required.
* Skilled in data warehousing principles and design.
* Ability to elicit requirements for new and changing business requirements on the Data Warehouse.
* Ability to adopt new ways of working and finding a way to incorporate agile practices into delivery of a predominantly Waterfall project to enable cooperation with Agile Labs.
