Joining them on a 6-month initial contract, the role must be engaged via umbrella company. 1-2 days per week in the Edinburgh based office will be expected.
The team is responsible for maintaining the entire IT estate as well as custom and packaged software development. They work primarily with Oracle and SQL, so the successful candidate must have extensive experience in Oracle PL/SQL along with previous experience in supporting in-house developed business related Applications and other relevant 3rd party products, ideally as an Application Service Delivery Support Specialist (or similar).
The successful candidate will provide 2nd line support of in-house applications & 3rd party products, and developing support tools or enhancements to improve the working environment.
Essential skills include:
*Extensive Oracle PL/SQL experience
*Demonstrable experience working in 2nd line application support
*Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to investigate, analyse and log ongoing problems, implement data and bug fixes in live environments, develop resolutions or workarounds to known problems with a focus on root cause analysis
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical staff.
Experience with any of the following would be a bonus but are not essential:
*Web applications
*SQL Server
*Oracle Forms
*C#/.NET
*Experience working in the investment management industry.
