UX Researcher (Edinburgh office 2 days per week) to £65,000 with incredible benefits.
Head Resourcing are delighted to be working in partnership with a globally recognised Financial Services brand to acquire additional talent for their already highly regarded Digital Design team to utilise data, technology, and insights to drive the brand experience, acquisition, journey, progression and retention of clients.
This role affords a commercially experienced UX Research professional, significant autonomy to embed and evolve the Research Practices in the team, taking ownership of the research strategy whilst collaborating with a passionate team of UI and UX experts.
Key Responsibilities
- Defining and advocating the nature and role of user experience research against other forms of research - such as market research and customer insights - as being critical to achieving customer centricity.
- Developing and maintaining strong and effective working relationships across the group.
- Maintain user research tools, repository and user research partner relationship
- Advocating a user-centred research approach (Design Thinking) in an engaging manner to overcome concerns, personal opinions or challenges
- Defining user experience research and methodologies
- Ensuring accessibility is embedded through designs
- Acting as the voice of the user and the design authority for all projects, programmes and initiatives
- Educating the value of user research within the wider team such as customer experience insight, planning and intel, and proposition teams
- Integrating user-centred design, toolkit and research with other insights to form a complete picture of digital customer behaviour, ensuring it is applied consistently and effectively.
- Assessing the user and business needs and ensuring these are reflected in the solution design
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrates a strong track record of developing digital journeys that support complex user needs
- Possesses an understanding of the theory and application of user research methodologies including surveys, interviews, collaborative workshops, face-to-face and remote user testing, information architecture and taxonomy design
- Support the UX Designers in enriching their own research methods
- Possesses a familiarity with the current accessibility guidelines - applying these to the journeys/platforms, auditing these and ensuring they are kept up to date with evolving accessibility standards
- Ability to manage a complex range of stakeholders - demonstrating effective skills in communication, persuasion and influencing to deliver solutions that have the user at heart whilst considering business needs
- Effective application of techniques to collect information and process it to facilitate and support key business processes and decisions
- Has experience and knowledge of using key tools including: Dovetail, Glassbox, Google Analytics, UX Tweaks, Qualtrics, FS:Pulse, Figma, Miro, Zeroheight, Google Optimiser and Sitecore A/B Testing, Slack
