Scrum Master - Home based

Do you have enthusiasm for Agile?

Do you go over and above the co-ordination of sprint ceremonies?

Do you strive to improve the efficiency of the development team by continuous process improvement and calling out issues that are slowing velocity?

We are recruiting in partnership with our Edinburgh city centre based, forward thinking and philanthropic client to find a Scrum Master to work within their multi-faceted teams. This is fantastic opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in an energetic environment focused on innovation, creative problem-solving and collaboration.

Being a team player and phenomenal at communication and building relationships is key to the role. Your expertise will be needed to ensure that these projects are run successfully in an Agile way and that you can share your expertise and knowledge with the organisations internal resources to ensure that the Agile methodology is followed.

Responsibilities:
- Organise and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings
- Identify and remove impediments or conflicts that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal
- Coach and mentor agile team members on agile standards and standard methodologies; ensure consistent best practices across the work streams.
- Assist product managers in keeping a comprehensive groomed product backlog
- Maintain and report against relevant metrics (i.e. burn down and velocity, etc.)
- Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
- Use the insights from each sprint to strive towards increasing the velocity of your team
- Engage with product owners to see opportunities for improvement across delivery processes.
- Some project delivery activities.

Required Skills and qualities:
- Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education and experience
- Detailed knowledge of the software development life cycle
- Strong experience working in an agile environment
- Certified Scrum Master/Scrum Practitioner
- Ability to understand technical issues at a high level
- Must have exceptional communication, organisation, and team building skills; articulate and able to steer a meeting with presence
- Displays a calm attitude during difficult situations
- Self-Motivation is key, as well as creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems.
