Project Manager - Software Development / Agile - Permanent - Edinburgh

Head Resourcing is currently recruiting an incredibly exciting new role with one of the leading investment organisations in the UK. Our client is recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join their Application Enablement team, whose aim is to help users make the most of the IT solutions their organisation's technology has to offer. This ranges from helping users get to grips with new features in applications to assisting a team in building a mobile application or streamlining cumbersome tasks. The product range is broad, from traditional Microsoft Office applications to brand new technologies like image recognition, BI tools, and Microsoft's Power Platform suite of low code development tools.

As well as enabling the business to make the most of the tools available, the development team also works on developing a variety of solutions for the business from building low code applications, creating reporting solutions, to managing large SharePoint and other cloud app migrations. As an experienced Project Manager who can take end-to-end ownership of a variety of projects from enablement, development, and governance initiatives - you will be responsible for planning and delivering these improvements in partnership with the business stakeholders, ensuring high quality solutions are implemented in line with business requirements and expectations.

Responsibilities:
- Work with business stakeholders and App Enablement managers to manage the backlog and ensure upcoming stories are prioritised.
- Work collaboratively with business analysts, developers, business users and other key stakeholders on requirements gathering.
- Facilitate stand ups, planning, retrospectives and other meetings / workshops in line with Agile methodologies.
- Facilitate effective communication between all project team members.
- Manage all project testing required in conjunction with development and business stakeholders, dealing with any issues arising.
- Identify all potential project risks and issues in conjunction with project developers and business stakeholders, and ensure all relevant protocols and controls are in place to manage these.
- Update project teams, Delivery Manager and Steering Groups and Committees regularly, including project metrics and reporting.
- Contribute to departmental or companywide initiatives to improve existing Project Management processes.

Essential:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects.
- Extensive background and expertise in the use of Project Management methodologies and tools.
- Experience of software delivery, including cross-functional, cross-disciplinary project management and analysis experience
- Experience of leading teams through all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery of high quality technical solutions
- Understanding of delivering IT programmes in an Agile framework (Agile, Scrum, Kanban)
- Project planning experience - ability to apply project logic and pragmatism to project plans.
- Resource planning, forecasting and estimation of effort required from others to meet your project objectives.

Desirable:
- A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, Scrum, APMG, etc would be advantageous
- Experience working in Investment Management is desirable, but not essential.
- Appreciation of both the business and technical sides of project delivery.
- Any knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Power Platform
- Any knowledge of Sharepoint, data visualisation technologies, reporting technologies (such as Tableau)
