Fully Remote with occasional visits to Glasgow

Head Resourcing are pleased to be assisting our large financial services client to recruit 2 Oracle DBA to join a dynamic team within their Data Platform Unit in IT Operations. The initial contract is for 6 months although an extension would be expected. The role is fully remote with a quarterly visit to Glasgow likely. The role has been deemed as Inside IR35 and therefore will require to be facilitated via an umbrella company. The top end rate to the umbrella is £405 per day.
This person will work closely with other staff from IT operations and beyond including 3rd parties to ensure the database estate functions as required alongside collaborating with project teams to ensure that change within the database environment is managed and controlled effectively and safely. There are numerous projects to get stuck into, including a migration to Exadata and an Oracle upgrade.
Required Skills:
*A strong understanding of and experience in Supporting Oracle Databases (10g, 11g, 12c and 19)
*Experience in a production database environment
*A strong understanding of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM Storage and Multi-Tenancy - essential
*Experience using Oracle Cloud Control
*ITIL Service Management awareness
*Oracle Linux, Linux, AIX, and Solaris operating system experience
*Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for team deliverables
Nice to have:
*Experience setting up and maintaining Oracle Data Guard
*Experience of undertaking database patching and upgrades (ideally to 19)
*Experience of supporting databases residing upon an Exadata appliance
