Our client, a large insurance client based in Glasgow, is looking for a Lead Developer for an initial 3 month contract. The role can be based remotely but some travel to Glasgow will be required. It has been assessed as inside IR35 and the rate is up-to £500 per day to umbrella.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing Java applications, delivering code and test automation as per the organisations' standards. You will produce and review detailed technical designs, and coach junior members of the team where applicable.

You will have:
*Demonstrable experience of working as a Java Developer
*Java 8+
*Spring Core Framework, Spring Data/JPA
*Unit Testing, Test Automation
*Maven or Gradle
*Design and develop REST Web APIs/services
*OWASP/Web App Security
*Experience with GIT
*Experience with Agile development practices
*Spring Boot, Spring Security
*Consuming SOAP web services
*Swagger, Postman, SoapUI
*JSP, basic JavaScript, jQuery, HTML 5, CSS 3
*Spring MVC
*T-SQL, SQL Stored Procedures
*Experience with Linux Bash and JBoss web application server (JBoss JWS, JBoss EAP)
*Experience with CI/CD and DevOps
*Experience of microservices, Axure DevOps, Docker, AWS and front-end frameworks such as Struts or Tapestry is highly desirable
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential
