Infrastructure Engineer (End-User Compute / Workspace Technology) - Edinburgh - Permanent

Head Resourcing is currently recruiting for Infrastructure Engineer to work with a leading investment company in Edinburgh. The role is within the Workspace Technology team, which is responsible for delivering the end user technology experience to staff across the entire business. The focus is on end-user compute; delivering applications, services and policies to all staff and devices across the firm with a primary goal of ensuring all Workspace services are accessible, secure and performant. The team has a wide remit across many different technologies and you will have the opportunity to drive efficiencies and processes within the department and contribute to the effectiveness of the team in supporting the wider infrastructure teams. Responsibilities:
- Ensure all workspace services are continually available, secure and fully performant for all business users
- Provide technical escalation point for Support teams
- Ensure Windows client estate is patched and managed to appropriate levels (including Windows / Office alignment to WaaS)
- Ensure Apple Mac estate is patched and managed to appropriate levels
- Ensure client application estate is patched and managed to appropriate levels
- Ensure mobile estate is patched and managed to appropriate levels
- Keep up-to-date with current trends and technologies
- Technically review all incumbent services recommending changes to utilize new features
- Work from a service desk queue within pre-defined SLAs
- Support internal and external peers taking a collaborative approach to problem solving
- Work within team and across teams, to deliver business outcomes based on technical requirements

Essential:
- Experience working in a support role within a Windows operating environment
- Experience administering Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (M.E.C.M.)
- Experience administering clients through Endpoint Manager (or similar MDM technology)
- Administration of Active Directory and group policy
- Experience with desktop virtualisation services (VDI)
- Track record of patching operating systems and applications

Desirable:
- Experience working in a support role within a MAC operating environment
- Experience administering clients through JAMF
- Chocolatey
- Powershell scripting
- GPOAdmin
- Vulnerability management tools, such as Tenable
- Knowledge of application packaging
- Office 365 administration
