In this role you will working with a team of Enterprise Architects and you will act as the subject matter expert on Cloud, Infrastructure and Network solutions. This will include looking at the existing IT estate and technologies in the bank and helping to decide on new solutions to move the organisation forward. This role would suit a candidate with a strong background in Infrastructure and Network architecture who has more recently been working with Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and Delivering roadmaps to high level technical capacity which help define the strategy and architecture of the bank.
- Work closely with Engineering teams to gain buy in from them with regards to future in the technology space so they support the target architecture.
- Work across the wider organisation, utilising your stake holder management skills to gain the support of key stakeholders and including at an executive level.
- Asist in the management of 3rd parties and vendors to ensure that capabilities are maximised in relation to costs. This will include assisting in decision making by making recommendations.
- Producing solution designs for significant use cases/projects.
- Lead teams to execute technical proof of concept activities, while ensuring the architectural governance processes and procedures are adhered to.
Skills Required:
- Proven experience of working in an Architecture role focusing on Infrastructure and Network solutions. Including, Data Centre, storage, servers, routing and switching.
- Significant experience of Cloud technologies; AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
- Exposure to DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, automation, etc.
- Knowledge of security technologies and tools such as firewalls and proxies.
- Excellent presentation skills both written and verbally, ideally having experience in presenting and reporting to stakeholder up to exec level.
- Ability to translate technical specifications and plans to the wider organisation, including non-technical colleagues.
