Head Resourcing is currently recruiting for an experienced Data Governance Analyst for our prestigious client in the investments industry in Edinburgh. Working as a key member of the Central Information Management team you will be responsible for the delivery of a continuous high-quality data management and governance service; driving governance policies for data management, and shaping and embedding the data principles and controls. Your responsibilities will cover areas such as data quality and data accuracy, promoting best-of-breed data governance and data controls - ensuring data is classified correctly and enriched / cleansed effectively. Please note this role is for an initial 12 month fixed term contract.
Responsibilities:
- Develop checks and controls to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels
- Demonstrate detailed technical understanding of data governance, software and processes.
- Full engagement with internal customers; acting in a consultative capacity, provide support and guidance regarding data quality and participate in projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
- Drive, shape and embed data governance policies for data management, as provided by internal frameworks and controls.
- Manage data governance policy, covering data usage, lineage and distribution.
- Deliver visibility and transparency on all aspects of data management for the firm through relevant and appropriate reporting, data and record management
- Expert in the field of data management, promote the role of data management and the service provided to internal customers.
- Driving data management profiling and awareness programs.
Essential:
- Experience with implementing data governance and data quality management frameworks
- Experience with using Informatica or similar data governance / data quality software such as Collibra / Talend
- Familiarity with SQL to query data stores
- Competent user of Excel
