Senior Desktop Technical Specialist

About this job.
Key responsibilities include,
*Conducting reviews on processes delivering desktop services ensuring they are both fit for purpose and fit for use
*Reviewing and assessing any escalations received from projects, senior management or business areas to formulate the correct response and action deemed necessary to remediate and minimise reoccurrence
*Providing response and guidance to attestations received from governance functions
*Responsibility for identifying areas of risk exposure; operational, security and financial to Desktop services ensuring that the appropriate controls are put in place to address these risks;
*Engage with projects & management providing input and assessment for alignment of resource with key skills to deliver project tasks
*Provide guidance to management on introduction of new services where Desktop services are within scope
*Reviewing introduction of new software to devices to reduce duplication on functionality with existing applications, ensuring compliance with licensing terms and security policies and that it is operational supportable within current environment
*Stakeholder Management: Provision of reporting and KPI's either existing or new to senior management where directed on services delivered or in scope for desktop services
*Responding to ad-hoc requests for subject matter expertise in relation to Desktop services in support of business activity;
*Any other tasks that may be required, not outlined above, but relating to activities executed by Desktop services
In order to be successful in the role you must have,
*An ability to work with minimal supervision, using own initiative and within aggressive timescales
*Experience of Microsoft Windows technologies, both front and back office
*Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills;
*Communication skills; Collaborate with colleagues across the bank in planning, risk management and implementation of proposed delivery of new services
*Sound business acumen and judgment; ability to see and communicate challenges in business terms; ability to understand and deliver value to the business.
*Effective interpersonal skills, relationship skills, and written/verbal communications skills; ability to motivate and influence others/negotiate and build consensus;
*Strong team player with ability to demonstrate clear leadership abilities;
*Ability to make sound decisions and judgments;
*Ability in the articulation of risks in Business terminology;
*Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
It would be advantageous if you had,
*Risk management standards specifically Information security
*Certification or experience of ITIL standards
*Exposure and usage of information security related policy, standards and methodologies
*Knowledge and experience of the following technologies-
oMcAfee ePolicy Orchestrator and agents
