An exciting opportunity has come live for a Network & Security Architect to join a large award winning professional services organisation based in Manchester. The Domain Architect is responsible for operating within the Service and Transformation function working closely with cross-domain teams. You will work in partnership with the business and IT to manage and transform technology to deliver on long term enterprise architecture plans.
The key responsibilities of the Domain Architect role are to become the recognised and consulted go-to for the architectural design and documentation to meet specific opportunities, problems or changes within the domain through the application of technology.

Day-to-day, the Domain Architect is responsible for:
*Maintaining specialist knowledge of the technologies and vendors for the Network and Security domain;
*Review and constantly improve current design to align it to current/future business needs and leading best practices;
*Reviewing/creating/maintaining all design documentation for the domain;
*Creating and constantly reviewing standards;
*Review, agree and approve all changes, deviations on customisations and architectural guidelines in the domain;
*Ensuring the changes align with the originating business objectives as well as supporting the delivery and operation;
*Contribute to conceptual architectures sessions with Enterprise Architects to shape the future infrastructure according to the business strategy for 5 -10 years;
*Working closely with the Service Managers to develop an intimate understanding of the business value chain and business processes within the domain;
*Actively supporting and consulting all projects within domain as a member of the Architecture Review Authority (ARB);
*Share the knowledge with Network and Security team members and participate in problem or incident management meetings.
Key Requirements
*Experience in applying architectural principles into program delivery along with an awareness of modelling tools and architectural frameworks such as TOGAF and Zachman;
*Demonstrated business and commercial experience;
*Experienced with business change / transformation programmes;
*Understanding of agile methodology and the associated ways of working.
Essential domain specific requirements
*Relevant experience in a similar position within a large corporate environment;
*Extensive knowledge and practical design experience in:
*WAN: MPLS/VPLS/VPN;
*LAN: CISCO, Juniper, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP;
*WAN Optimisation and aggregation technologies;
*Load balancing technologies;
*VoIP, HDVC;
*Global QOS;
*Network Security and Information Security: DMZ, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Web Security;
*WiFi solutions;
*Service management/monitoring tools;
*Cloud connectivity (Office 365, SAS, Google, Azure);
*Excellent understanding of network operations;
*Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills;
*CISCO/Juniper Expert or Architect certification.
