| Job Description | Our client is a professional services organisation who have a highly successful business offering managed service solutions to a range of clients predominately within Scotland. They are looking to recruit a service control specialist to help with the design, build and implementation of ITIL processes into a 150 user environment. Once the main implementation is complete, along with the SDM the role holder will be responsible for facilitating the control process in line with the ITIL environment and assisting with the management of this. Key responsibilities:
* Design, build and operate the following service control processes: o Change management o Configuration management o Release management o Service continuity management * Manage the performance of the service control function to meet or exceed defined service levels. * Plan resourcing to meet fluctuating demand for services. * Follow internal IT Team policies and procedures. * Regularly review provision of service against changing business needs/requirements. * Produce monthly performance reports for the service line. * Drive down change in line with changing business requirements * Escalation point for all service control matters. * Work across IT Team peer group to strengthen relationships between service lines
Our client feels this role may be very well suited to someone who has been involved in desktop support but has recently moved into a role with more responsibility for process/quality around ITIL practices within an infrastructure support team. To be considered for the role the following skills, experience and attributes are required:
* Good technical knowledge and understanding of IT services and their usage in support of client business goals * One or more ITIL qualifications - preferably relevant to service line * Experience of resource scheduling * Experience of using service management systems and MS Office * Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact at all staffing levels, but especially at senior managerial level, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the relevant business group. Show advanced ability to negotiate with all staffing levels to achieve service levels
* Previous experience working for a professional services organisation (desirable) * LDRPS (Living Disaster Recovery Planning System) knowledge (desirable)
